The Walker House

Nestled in the bluff where mineral was first discovered, the Walker House, one of Mineral Point’s most storied structures, has served visitors since the early 1800’s.

Miners, gamblers, locals, tourists, patrons and employee’s of the railroad enjoyed its elegant accommodations, lively Cornish Pub, and satisfying cuisine since the late 1830’s.

In 2003, the Walker House was listed as one the most endangered properties in Wisconsin. On May 19, 2005, it was upgraded to the top 10 endangered list.

Joseph and Susan Dickinson purchased the property in November of 2005, and have dedicated themselves to restoring and upgrading this property to live up to its former glory. The tradition will continue in the near future with a Cornish Pub including badger holes, Civilized Dining, a small Inn with rooms, and several reception areas.

Currently we are offering an extensive Catering Program to fill any needs you have for private parties or business events served at the location of your choice. The Walker House is not currently open to the public, but we do have a licensed kitchen for catering. Starting May 14, 2008 we will be offering a Take Away Delivery menu for our local businesses here in Mineral Point.
